*and the crowd goes crazy*
Our full-day TED conference was a wild success. At every session, there were over 70 people in the Hive's make-shift studio experiencing the powerful and passionate lectures. It was a true success.....which is why we're officially announcing that there will be another TEDxhive conference in the spring! *and the crowd goes crazy* Ms. Smith promised that videos were coming soon...she's claiming that there's something wrong with her dropbox account. Suuuuuure. We'll give her until after winter break, though.

Sorry we haven't been blogging, but it's been crunch time in the Hive. Want a sneak peek of what Tuesday's TEDxHive conference has in store for you? Oh, and last-minute badge reservations are still welcome for those of you who would like to attend.
In the Hive, we look up to people in our world who have made a difference when thinking about how we want to represent ourselves as scholars and change-makers. Nelson Mandela holds a special place in our hearts because we have, on many occasions, spent time learning about his peaceful pursuit to heal a nation. We are so grateful for his life of compassion and bravery. You will be greatly missed, Mr. Mandela, but never forgotten.
"Man’s goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished." Articles: Time For Kids New York Times Huffington Post Huffington Post CNN Now B owes Ms. Smith a cafeteria lunch...and NOT on fish sandwich day. Anyone interested? We're thinking about filming a documentary about our upcoming TEDxHive conference. Or you could bring some other ideas to the table, too.

That's right, scholars....this isn't fantasy, this is expository. Last year, a man by the name of Zac Vawter used his man-made bionic leg to climb to the top of one of the world's highest sky scrapers. We're going to be analyzing an article written prior to his climb about his hopes and fears for his grand mission. Instead of writing our answers down on paper, you and your partner will submit them to Ms. Smith digitally through an online platform called Survey Monkey.
