We loved you from the moment you were our long-term substitute, and we'll continue to love you even when you're gone from our Class of 2020 work space. You have turned a long-term substitute position into a long-term impact on our hearts and minds. Thank you for helping us when we needed it most, and thank you for giving our favorite Mr. Howard a well-deserved break. We hope this video will show the gratefulness we couldn't find the words to express: Here in the Hive, we don't mess around when we have a deadline...and we have one approaching: 5th grade graduation. But, before we walk the stage, we've been busily buzzing around our space to complete an epic project. We made a commitment to our friend--Andrew Gardner--at the BrainPOP headquarters in NYC, to create videos based off of our own expertise. We've drafted & finalized scripts, brainstormed plots & creative twists, sketched each frame based off of the script, and decided upon the format of stop motion animation. We've even spent a couple days practicing with our newest app--My Create. Here's a sneak peek into what's brewing over here in the great ATX:
Today, one of our amazing Hive Scholars was recognized by the principal at Bedicheck Middle school for being accepted into the Junior Einstein program! Way to go, Alec!
Two of the Hive's compassionate scholars recently shaved their heads to support members of their family throughout chemotherapy. Way to go, guys! Your new cuts look rather swagger.
Block 1's amazing interns (Ms. Kaitlin and Ms. Hayley) helped us surprise Ms. Smith with a haiku rap! Well...it wasn't originally going to be a rap, but we just couldn't resist. Our favoritest and most amazingest art teacher in the whole wide world hosted Cunningham's Art Night....and it was nothing short of epic. Art Masters were phenomenal in assisting with the massive production, including everything from shaving cream marbling to nature sculptures to photo booths to community canvas painting. Thanks for a wonderful evening of creativity!
