Today, in preparation for our collaboration with BrainPOP (and the awesome Andrew Gardner) we began studying the art of stop-motion animation. It's not at easy as it looks, and the scholars from last year were faced with that reality as they tried to film their scripts. This year, we're growing our schemata on stop-motion animation prior to coming up with our BrainPOP video topics or writing our scripts. Our goal is to write a script that supports OUR unique vision for BrainPOP. We watched a TEDed on animation and then came up with [very] short stories to film. These stories, while tiny, still had rising action, a climax, and a resolution. Sometimes really cool things come in really small packages. Here are some random examples of what Hive scholars created on a whim: This is just the beginning...don't worry there's more! The Hive scholars will be creating longer stop-motion animation videos very soon.
